How many hours per week of therapy should my child have?
Upon beginning behavior intervention services, your child will be assessed across many areas of development, and based on this assessment, a treatment package will be recommended with consideration of your child's availability, age, funding source(s), and, most importantly, individual needs and family goals. Many children benefit from participating in early and intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI), which research suggests is generally between 25-40 hours per week of intervention. Visit our Research page for a list of such studies. Other children may benefit from having a smaller number of ABA hours as a piece of an overall treatment package with other service providers. Following initial assessment then, a recommendation for a clinically appropriate level of service for your child will be made. Please contact us for more information.
