Karyn Lew
Director of Operations
Karyn Lew joined FirstSteps in 2022 and brings 10 years of ABA related applied knowledge and over 15 years of operations and business experience to the team. As Director of Operations, Ms. Lew is constantly focused on elevating the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal systems, process standards and most importantly, our people, with the aim to provide the highest level of support to our busy clinical teams.
Karyn earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Boston University and early on in her career, combined her education with operational experience developed at a fast-paced, Boston-based technology company.
Ms. Lew worked her way up the ranks into several leadership positions imposing the values of teamwork, accountability, technology, innovation and efficiency of systems and processes which has contributed to her success in both the US and in Australia. Introduced to ABA in 2014 by her current colleagues, Anne Swinney, COO, and Matt McAlear, CEO, Ms. Lew discovered the joy of contributing her seasoned skill set in a mission-driven organization that put its young clients’ well-being first. Over the years, Ms. Lew has been fortunate to continue her journey at passionate ABA companies and is thrilled to have landed at FirstSteps where she continues to help grow the business and the team.
Karyn resides in Oakland with her husband and two children. When not hard at work at FirstSteps, she enjoys long walks in the hills of Oakland, learning to play golf, visiting family in Maine and spending free time with good friends.
