Caitlin Wineman, M.Ed., BCBA
Regional Clinic Director, Contra Costa County
Caitlin Wineman earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles 2013 and earned her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University in 2018. With seven younger cousins, Ms. Wineman has always loved working with and being around kids. In college, she worked at UCLA’s Intensive Outpatient Center for OCD and related disorders, which solidified her interests in working with individuals with disabilities.
After graduation, she moved back home, and was thrilled to be hired by FirstSteps for Kids as an instructor, merging two of her interests. In 2014, she became a Lead Instructor, and began considering a long career in ABA. In early 2017, she began her Master’s degree coursework as a Program Manager, and worked closely with her FirstSteps Program Directors, learning and growing as a clinician under the guidance of her wonderful mentors. In 2018, Ms. Wineman became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and was promoted to the Program Director position, where she quickly became a mentor to many. Shining in her new role, Ms. Wineman enjoyed meeting new families during the intake process, collaboration with our funders, and ensuring the entire clinical team was at its best. She was the obvious candidate to run our Contra Costa location and was promoted in 2021.
Ms. Wineman’s specialized interests in the field of ABA include Executive Functioning and Perspective Taking, as well as supporting her client’s parents and caregivers with implementing the techniques of ABA outside of direct sessions. She feels so fortunate to work and collaborate with her amazing team of clinicians and looks forward to continuing grow the clinical operations at FirstSteps, Walnut Creek!
